So, when you have a raging case of Covid, what do you do? I painted a broken chef’s rack that my husband thought would make an amazing potting bench for the greenhouse. I figured I could be sick and miserable inside, or sick and not as miserable in my greenhouse, surrounded by DIY Paint. I chose the greenhouse.
The rack was free to us. A neighbor was moving it and dropped all of the glass shelves, which shattered. Instead of it ending up in a landfill, my husband made new shelves and added a small bar sink that we had sitting around. I then painted it to represent the earth and sky. There were details underneath that reminded me of flowers, so they were painted with Old 57 and Cake Batter. Monet’s Garden and Salty Kiss were the greens, Blue Iris is the magnificent cobalt blue, and the little suns were a combination of all of the colors with a touch of white. The paint was sealed with Big Top. That was 2020. She is used every day, water goes everywhere, and she has held up beautifully.
